Job Description
The Interlibrary Loan Supervisor plays a critical role in providing access to academic materials for students, faculty, and staff. This position involves coordinating resource-sharing services, establishing and maintaining relationships with partner libraries, and supervising a team of student assistants.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate interlibrary loan processing, including searching online bibliographic databases and developing expertise in complex research environments.
- Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with partner libraries, providing exceptional service to both borrowing libraries and users.
- Supervise and train a team of student assistants, providing ongoing support and guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 year of work experience in an academic or research library.
- Experience searching online bibliographic databases and a strong interest in continual learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of work experience in resource sharing or interlibrary loan.
- 1 year of work experience supervising others and providing training.
