This is a full time position.
Duties
We are seeking a full-time peer specialist to provide service delivery support to adults within Wilder's Community Mental Health and Wellness programs such as Wilder's Outpatient Co-Occurring Mental Health, Outpatient SUD program and Outreach (Schools, encampments and jails).The ideal candidate will have a passion for working on a multi-cultural program with adults and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including Hmong, Karen, Cambodian and Vietnamese participants. A Peer Specialist is an individual with lived recovery experience who has been trained and certified to help peers gain hope and move forward in their own recovery. A Peer Specialist cultivates their peers' ability to make informed, independent choices. The specialist helps their peers identify and build on their strengths while assisting peers in gaining information and support from the community to make their goals a reality.
Job Duties :
Meet with clients on a regular basis, or as needed to discuss routine recovery issues from a peer perspective.
Provide direct assistance in the form of transportation, filling out forms or making phone calls, and accompanying clients to appointments and court appearances.
Assist in finding necessary community services to meet basic needs.
Performs outreach and follow up with other treatment team providers i.e. counselor, therapist, case manager, Probation worker, and psychiatrist.
Facilitate Peer Groups.
Role model behavior that is consistent with, and supportive of, people in recovery from mental illness and chemical dependency, such behavior will include upholding ethical standards of the program and reliable attendance.
Assist in planning and supervising recreational activities for clients.
Attend weekly clinical staff meetings.

Job Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age
Have a GED or equivalent
Must be able to pass a DHS 2.0 Net study background check
Must have lived experience with mental health or substance use
DHS approved Certified Peer Recovery Certificate
Free from problematic substance use for at least 1 year
Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and meet Wilder's foundation drivers requirements
Must be fluent in English and Karen or Hmong
