Description:
Provide assistance for the efficient and effective operation of the school
NOTE:
The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings
- Has a legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values
- Shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District
- Ensure safety of students
- Provide student supervision as needed
- Monitor students in the Student Workroom
- Communicate with staff when students are in in the Student Workroom
- Maintain a safe environment of students in the Student Workroom
- Promote Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) and PAX expectations
- Prepare correspondence and other memos as directed by the Principal
- Monitor clinic and make sure necessary supplies are on hand
- Maintain a log of students visiting the clinic including time in and time out
- Maintain clinic cards and update them as needed
- Maintain and secure student medications
- Administer medications to students including a log of time and dates
- File, collate, copy and distribute materials
- Maintain and complete necessary EMIS files for building
- Create and distribute attendance sheet to staff
- Make contact with public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain respect for confidential information, e.g. custodial papers, grades, medication and court documents
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Attend meetings and in-service as required
- Prepare attendance and announcement list for staff
- Deposit and account for all monies received
- Maintain and account for requisitions and purchase orders
- Contact parents of students who have not reported to school by designated time
- Submit office supply budget each year and keep inventory of office supplies
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
- Assist in organizing, distributing and collecting of testing materials
- Assist in organizing and distributing curriculum materials
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
- Issue appropriate passes to students
- Assist the secretary in completing building projects such as schedules, mailings, materials and supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal
Qualifications:
- One year related experience preferred
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent or Board of Education find appropriate
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
