About the Project/Clinic:

AMI will provide comprehensive medical care and support to individuals in a migrant processing center, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare in a secure and controlled environment.

Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing resources to ensure the availability of essential supplies and equipment needed for the smooth operation of the facility. Their role will involve inventory management, re-ordering of supplies, shipping/receiving of assets, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. By efficiently managing resources, they will contribute to the overall effectiveness and functionality of the facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management and Control

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including stock quantities, consumption rates, and replenishment needs.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile any discrepancies to ensure data accuracy.

  • Adhere to established inventory control measures to minimize waste, loss, and expiration of supplies.

  • Collaborate with Logistics and Operations Departments to forecast future inventory requirements and optimize stock levels.

  • Procurement – as directed by Senior Procurement Manager

  • Assist in development of Bill of Materials and RFP/RFQ pricing.

  • Complete fulfilment of supplies and services based on project needs.

  • Analyze PR, PO and invoices to ensure accuracy of goods purchased and delivered.

  • Create purchase orders and associated documentation as needed.

  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.

  • Contribute to ISO compliance, and annual audit review process

  • Adhere to AMI Corporate Procurement processes and procedures

  • Logistics

  • Work with the Logistics team to ensure compliance with applicable logistics policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Support site Logistician(s) in inventory management and shipping/receiving protocols, per supervisor direction.

The job duties are flexible and subject to change depending upon operational needs

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Must be able to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process

  • Proficiency in using procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines related to procurement is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals and analyze pricing structures

  • Cultural sensitivity and empathy when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field

  • Proven experience in logistics, or supply chain operations

  • Familiarity with logistics practices, inventory management, and shipping/receiving

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations. Must work as a team member to improve safety culture and quality.

  • Read and follow instructions. Demonstrate safe work behavior.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently.

  • Written and spoken fluency in English, (Spanish also a very preferred)
