POSITION SUMMARY: The Packer prepares customer orders for shipping
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders
· Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed
· Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures
· Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards
· Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements
· Properly stencils shipping information as required
· Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned
· Maintains clean work area
· Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures
· Participates in TQM and SPC meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
· EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
· MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
· REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
· PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
· CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred
· OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours
