What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Fullstack Engineer (70% Frontend) position at Amicus?
Join an AI-powered enterprise data transformation platform that does for data what Facebook did for connecting humans. Backed with over $4M in funding by some of the same VC's that have backed OpenAI, Airbnb, Stripe, and Replit, this company is revolutionizing data integration for enterprises and growth-stage clients. Here, you’ll play a foundational role in breaking down data silos by leveraging advanced AI—including cutting-edge strategies derived from Stanford NLP research—to ensure systems communicate seamlessly.
The company is results-driven, innovative, and built on collaboration. You won’t just execute specifications—you’ll own product features end-to-end, influence the roadmap, and help shape the future of enterprise data infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3 years of full-stack development experience with a strong front-end focus (approximately 70%), including experience working with large datasets and building impactful data visualizations.
- Technical Skills: Frontend - React, TypeScript, and frameworks like Next.js
- Backend - Proficiency in Python and FastAPI
- Database: Strong experience with PostgreSQL
- Cloud: Familiarity with AWS
- Education: A degree from a Top 20 institution (e.g., Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Cornell, Princeton, Harvard, etc.)
- Autonomy & Impact: Demonstrated ability to own customer-facing features end-to-end with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Mindset & Culture Fit: A collaborative, influential team player with strong communication skills, eager to shape both the product and the strategic direction of the company. This role thrives in a dynamic, in-person Manhattan office.
- Nice-to-Haves: Founding engineer experience at an early stage startup, exposure to AI integration in design patterns, and a solid sense of UI/UX best practices.
Location & Benefits
- Location: This role is based in a stylish Manhattan office with an expectation to work in person 5 days a week.
- Ownership & Influence: As a founding team member, you’ll have significant responsibility over your work, influencing the product roadmap and the company’s future.
