We are seeking a motivated and energetic Shipping Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. The role requires an individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks, lift up to 150 lbs, and maintain a high level of attention to detail while ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of shipments.
Job Duties:
- Properly package freight to ensure safe shipping.
- Fulfill orders and print the necessary documents for each shipment.
- Operate a forklift and load trucks, ensuring proper loading and packaging of freight.
- Responsible for nightly lockup and ensuring forklift batteries are charged as a backup.
- Perform final quality control checks to verify that all required paperwork and documents are correct and complete.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies in coordination with the purchasing department.
- Keep the shipping dock and packaging area clean and organized.
- Serve as backup for the parcel shipping area.
- Explore and recommend new packaging options to improve freight safety, cost efficiency, and savings.
