Founding Engineer

We've partnered with Scale Medicine to recruit for a Founding Engineer to build a Generative AI platform that will help tackle some of the toughest decisions in breakthrough drug development. Our mission is to increase the rate of breakthrough drugs tenfold.

The role💭 :

You will be our Founding Engineer and own the core AI capabilities and application logic of the flagship product. You'll create AI systems built with Python, FastAPI, Postgres & ElasticSearch and architect solutions to handle multimodal data sources crucial to the core products.

Your opportunity👀:

You'll be a key contributor to developing a platform that could 10x the rate of breakthrough drugs with an opportunity to move into "Head of" and much more senior positions. You'll be joining an early stage startup backed by top investors that have a successful history of building and scaling software companies. You'll also work alongside a founder who has previously started a top 20 AI drug discovery company and led the world's largest biotech startup accelerator.

What we’re looking for🕵️:

• Proficiency in Python and experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g., Next.js, FastAPI).
• Demonstrated ability to iterate and ship features in a fast-paced environment.
• 6 - 10 years of experience (Ideally with large-scale search datasets).
• Strong software engineering skills with experience in AI/ML, especially building and deploying production-ready systems.
• Outstanding communication skills. Can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Familiarity with database technologies, including relational, vector, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with large language models and other AI/ML technologies.
• Understanding of data processing pipelines and ETL processes.
• Prior startup experience, especially in early-stage environments.
