Job Summary :
The Telecom Expense IT Planning Analyst is a support position focused on the lifecycle of IT Telecom Lease Services. This includes provisioning IT telecom services (MACD activity), Telecom invoice management, Telecom inventory management, Telecom vendor management and financial reporting as well as overall business intelligence. The IT Planning Analyst is chartered with delivering cost avoidance, savings, MACD services and ensuring internal client satisfaction.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities :
Work within internal systems and within TEM (Telecom Expense Management) platform to manage data and voice MACD services. Includes quoting, ordering, tracking, scheduling, and activations.
Work closely with Managed TEM provider to ensure inventory, invoicing and cost is loaded timely and correctly
Ensure 100% capture of client invoices for on-time processing
Audit and process telecom wireline and wireless invoices according to schedule
Forensic analysis of telecom invoices inclusive of receiving, reviewing, approving, auditing, optimizing, processing, validating payment, etc.
Investigate and identify inventory exceptions and dispute with vendor as required
Vendor management - work closely with telecom vendors to ensure timely receipt of invoices, accurate pricing and cost validation, dispute management and timely / accurate MACD activity
Provide timely, detailed and accurate reporting as required
Collaborate with engineers and business partners to deliver on network infrastructure work
Preferred Competencies :
Telecom invoice management
General knowledge of business finance – cost allocation, AP and GL process
Basic knowledge of telecommunications services and networks (voice, data, mobile, unified communications)
General knowledge of enterprise system integrations (i.e. AD / LDAP, SFTP, AP / GL / HR)
Reviewing, understanding, interpreting and managing carrier contracts
General knowledge of and understanding of pricing and benchmarking of telecom services
Understanding of SAAS structure, architecture, and security
C-Level presentation and interaction skills
Knowledge of vendor internal processes (AT&T, Verizon, Frontier, Lumen)
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to multitask on various functions throughout the workday
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, email) with internal customers, peers, direct and senior management
Ability to escalate effectively and manage vendors (both partners and non-partner vendors)
Ability to work as a facilitator on project plans – implementations and installs / disconnects
Ability to leverage automation for efficiency and added benefit
While there is not a formal responsibility for personnel management, this role will work closely with various members of internal peer and management organizations and will need to take various leadership roles, internally and externally
Required Education and Experience :
College Degree or equivalent work experience
5 years in telecommunications and / or in the Telecom Management (TEM) and / or Managed Mobility Services (MMS) industries
Able to perform in-depth audits and reconciliation of telecom and data networking service orders and change activity against vendor records, billing and corporate-wide financial objectives
Ability to file carrier disputes when warranted
Able to manage order tracking, expense monitoring and allocation of cost and credits for network
