The Gist...
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our team this summer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR and eager to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and fast-paced federal contracting environment. You’ll support core HR operations and projects, working closely with our People & Culture team to build an inclusive and engaging employee experience.
What Your Day May Include...
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth employee transitions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and help update internal HR systems.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) efforts.
- Conduct research on HR best practices, policies, and federal labor compliance.
- Assist with learning and development coordination, including scheduling, materials, and tracking participation.
Requirements
You'll Bring These Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship Required to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Solid communication and organizational abilities
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in HR operations and a desire to pursue a career in HR.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Able to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new systems.
- A team player who is curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Located in the Washington, DC metro area with the ability to commute to our Reston, VA HQ
