Medical Interpreter: Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Video Interpreter who is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese to provide essential video remote interpreting services within various medical settings across the United States. This role is crucial in bridging communication gaps for our limited English proficient (LEP) community and the healthcare professionals serving them.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient video remote interpreting services for diverse healthcare practitioners and LEP clients.
• Adhere strictly to the policies and procedures established by Stratus Video.
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct, including punctuality, regular attendance, and readiness for all scheduled shifts.
• Engage in respectful and collaborative interactions with peers and supervisors.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring initiatives.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong verbal communication abilities in both the source and target languages (e.g., Mandarin-to-English).
• A solid passion for customer service and interpreting.
• Deep respect and understanding of the cultural nuances, dialects, and beliefs of our LEP clientele.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ethical standards and practices in medical interpreting.
• Familiarity with medical privacy regulations (HIPAA) and applicable state and federal laws.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in medical interpreting is essential.
• Extensive understanding of interpreting ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
