What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paid Commercial Real Estate Agent Internship position at Amo Realty?
Amo Realty is a real estate brokerage that services all of New York City, Westchester & Long Island. Our company was originally founded in Boston in 2007 and currently has offices in 12 states. We are hiring in our Manhattan office located at 1177 6th Ave for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter & Summer 2025 internships. Aside from NYC, we are also hiring students in our Boston, New Jersey & Connecticut offices for 2024-2025.
We're currently hiring aspiring commercial real estate agents to join our team and we have a successful commercial real estate agent internship program to help get there. A New York real estate license is required as students will be helping with showings, answering calls and interacting with buyers/sellers/renters across NYC and Long Island. The hope we have is that the students will come back on as a full time commercial real estate agent (or residential agent) upon graduation.
Some of the tasks include:
- Vetting incoming commercial real estate leads. The leads are typically clients that are looking to lease office space, retail space, lab space, restaurants across NYC & Long Island. There are also large multi-family / mixed use commercial real estate investment leads that come through.
- Students will then connect the lead with a commercial real estate agent in our office. Students will be able to shadow our busy commercial real estate agents on showings.
- Students will prepare inventory reports for our agents and clients
- Students will prospect for commercial real estate listings. We have several big investor clients that are constantly looking for off-market properties.
- There are also options to help out our residential real estate agents with showings for condos, co-ops, houses & apartment rentals.
This is a paid internship with a small weekly base commission. Although not the norm for student interns, we have had students make $20,000-$30,000 just in the summer in prior years. This was because we gave the option to take on apartment renter clients while working the commercial real estate internship. We do have students that stay with us year round and try to help out on school breaks.
We are currently interviewing candidates who either have the NY real estate license or are currently attending the NY real estate class.
