Overview
Client is seeking a seasoned accountant with over 5 years of experience for a supporting all aspects of costing in a manufacturing environment. This entails calculating, maintaining and updating costing, accounting transactions associated with inventory and production, reporting and reconciliation. This position ensures that all wine inventory and cost of goods sold are accounted for in accordance with GAAP and Company processes.
Summary of Role
- Document and communicate standard operating procedures and policies pertaining to the company’s inventory and cost accounting methodology. Make recommendations to improve or streamline procedures.
- Maintains the company’s cost accounting system, including set up of standard cost estimates, reconciliation to actual costs and implementation of revised cost through the inventory sub ledger and general ledger.
- Provides ongoing analysis and review of wine & spirits cost of goods and gross margin; identifies capacity constraints and traces costs back to underlying activities
- Support periodic reforecasting exercises for cost of goods sold and manufacturing variance
- Monthly close of accounting and inventory systems
- Perform inventory cost entries, as needed
- Ensure data integrity in item build of materials (BOMs) with respect to COGS modeling
- Support gross margin reporting requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to inventories produced or acquired
- Collaborate with local and global stakeholders
- Timely communication with internal and external contacts
- Use of financial modeling
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
- 5 or more years of experience in Cost Accounting; Wine industry is a plus
- Direct experience with QuickBooks and SOS inventory software preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
