EXPECTATIONS:
The Receptionist is the “first impression” for the public of Among Friends Adult Day Care. The Receptionist represents AFADC to the public, to families we serve and to potential families. Additionally, the Receptionist is “communication central” for the staff, taking messages, seeing that phone calls are routed correctly and passing communications between staff members as requested.
The Receptionist assists with operations of the center as requested by the Director/Operations Manager. This position carries out clerical duties in support of operations including making copies, preparing supplies for activities, organizing paperwork, creating and/or printing reports, entering information into AdultDayWare and other duties as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
- Notifies company personnel of visitor arrival.
- Maintains security and telecommunications system.
- Informs visitors by answering or referring inquiries.
- Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories.
- Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges.
- Operates telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.
- Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Supports continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School diploma
· Acceptable Background Check results are required.
· Data entry experience
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Able to quickly learn to use various computer programs, experience with Word and Excel is a plus.
· Friendly with visitors, pleasant telephone manner.
· Able to maintain a calm demeanor even with individuals being dealt with are angry.
