Position Overview
The Lab Technician will be responsible for assisting the Lab Manager & Operations Assistant Manager with product development, the extraction process, cleaning, documentation, and packaging. The role will include some basic dosing formulations, and simple math when troubleshooting. The ability to understand the extraction, winterization, purging, and distillation process is also necessary. The lab will be producing products from beginning to end, which will include extraction, cleaning, and packaging; the Lab Tech should be prepared to be a part of each stage of production. The ideal candidate will be excited about being a part of a team that will produce the highest quality products possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist the Laboratory Manager with all aspects of the extraction process including product development, extraction, cleaning, documentation, testing, and packaging
· Organization skills are critical, maintaining inventory logs, daily logs, journal entries, updating barcodes, etc. will be critical to the lab’s success
· Understand and follow all safety protocols, compliance and SOPS
· Ensure labeling and tracking is executed properly and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures & METRC Regulations
· Adhere to company standards including maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism
· All other job duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
· Interest in Phytochemistry and Cannabis
· Familiar with various extraction and concentrate/distillation systems
· Team-oriented
· Analytical skills, adaptability, problem solving and versatility
· Desired work ethic includes being detail oriented, highly organized, positive, enthusiastic, eager to learn and a good communicator
Physical Requirements
· Frequent communication with staff and management
· Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
· Must be able to work in a laboratory environment with moderate to loud noise level
· Must be able to work in manufacturing or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions. May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed
