Job Description: Kitchen Technician - Cannabis Edibles
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable **Kitchen Technician** to join our cannabis business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality cannabis-infused edibles while adhering to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position requires culinary skills, precision, and a strong understanding of cannabis infusion processes.
Key Responsibilities
Edible Production:
- Prepare cannabis-infused edibles (e.g., gummies, chocolates, baked goods) following company recipes and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Measure, mix, and process ingredients accurately to ensure consistent product potency and quality.
Cannabis Infusion:
- Safely handle cannabis extracts and infuse them into recipes according to precise dosages and guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of batch production, including weights, measurements, and ingredient sourcing.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and infusion machines.
- Clean and sanitize all tools and surfaces to comply with health and safety regulations.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
- Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and state compliance requirements.
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations governing the production of cannabis edibles.
- Adhere to company policies for hygiene, food safety, and workplace security.
Inventory Management:
- Track and report ingredient inventory levels.
- Assist in ordering supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.
Qualifications
- Experience in a professional kitchen, food production, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures (ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Familiarity with cannabis infusion techniques and dosing is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and accuracy.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
