Summary:
Supports and assists the department and team by purchasing and providing a high level of service, i.e., materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized/complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing procedures. Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, investigates and works within a team environment to enhance development of required skills. Learns suppliers, product/inventory, and sources for multiple jobs. Communicates with internal and field teams to better understand department processes, product status and job awareness. Communicates purchasing procedures to departments and suppliers with guidance/direction. Assures a high level of service, supplier performance in the areas of on-time delivery, responsiveness, quality of required documentation, part quality and cost.
- Process purchase requests from the field and fabrication warehouse.
- Orders material and sub-contractor work as needed
- Insure requested materials are contracted and approved for purchase
- Maintains a positive relationship with vendors and suppliers
- Research and resolve any purchasing problems and issues
- Coordinate material refusals/returns and credits, while ensuring cost efficient handling
- Coordination with project teams; AMPAM Engineers & Designers, Project Superintendents, Field Foremen, and Project Managers.

- BA/BS degree preferred; will consider equivalent work experience plus business office experience in a corporate office
- 1-2 years’ experience with Database Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Dependable and responsible
- Can take direction and work with little supervision
- Excellent communication and group presentation skills
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position a minimum of 50% of the time
- Ability to learn technical material
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
