What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr Staff Accountant position at Ampco Pumps Co Inc?
Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications.
The Jr Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing accounting tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy.
- A/P duties, including matching, filing, coding and entering into ERP system as well as investigating discrepancies.
- Communicate with clients and vendors via phone and email.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including month/quarter/year end closing reconciliations.
- Organize and maintain financial documents and records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with audits, fact-checking, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist Accounting Manager with various accounting tasks and projects as needed.
Required Skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Perform with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Solid organizational, communication, problem-solving and research abilities.
- Strong business skills and effective understanding of financial, distribution and manufacturing systems
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Associate's degree/relevant certifications plus experience
- 1-2 years relevant accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience a plus
