Job Title : Production ManagementLocation(s) : New York, NYDescription ExternalAs a member of the Reliability and Production Engineering team within Sales and Trading Production Management, you will be supporting critical trading applications in a fast paced, exciting, and dynamic Trading Floor environment. You will work within a team of technologists acting as the first point of contact for Compliance, Risk, High Touch Trading Desks, and Development teams.Our team is responsible for : Coordinating the preparation and trading of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), working closely with NYSE, NASDAQ, BATS, and IEX.Investigation of user queries. E.g. order rejects, trade breaks, exchange issues. Liaising with clients, exchanges, vendors, and internal teams where appropriate.Notifying the business units of system issues or failures in a timely manner. Communicating with global counterparts when necessary.Creation of new tools and automation of processes to better support and proactively monitor our environment.Liaising with users and development teams on potential improvements to our trading applicationsProactive & reactive monitoring of processes, connections & trade flows.Incident and problem management adhering to ITIL frameworkAssisting Compliance / Risk on regulatory inquiries and user permissions.Testing failure scenarios to identify problems and improve outage recovery procedures.Qualifications ExternalMust enjoy working within a team and have the ability to communicate well cross functionally.Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.Excellent problem solving skills and passion for developing new and creative solutions to complex problems.Ability to interact with Traders and the drive to learn about securities and markets.Good business knowledge of Equities would include the ability to demonstrate an understanding of different instruments and how and where they trade. This would also include the ability to describe an order book and the different order types that can be used.Understanding of SQL and Sybase databases.Understanding of operating systems (UNIX, PC).Understanding of real time distributed application architectures and experience with message based protocols e.g. FIX.Incident management skills Ability to own issues from start to finish, with a commitment to determining root cause and follow ups.Proficiency in a scripting language such as Perl / Python and Shell.Knowledge of Agile methodology and cycle is a plus.Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
