About the role:
As a Design Verification Engineering Intern, you will join our SoC verification team and gain valuable, hands-on experience in all aspects of the server class SoC development and verification process. You'll work alongside several seasoned verification & design engineers and get a real-world experience in what it takes to transform an architecture into complex, fully functional silicon.
The Ampere Internship program focuses on you to build your networks, support your efforts in making an impact, and giving you an exposure to what Ampere does and how Ampere operates across the company. We want you to leave with the feeling that what you've worked on made a difference, a new level of confidence of what you're capable of, and a new network of contacts.

What you’ll achieve:
- Create micro-architecture verification plans for unit level and top-level verification.
- Design and implement test benches and verification collateral like functional coverage monitors, UVM checkers.
- Find bugs/defects in the design by debugging tests and analysing coverage.
- Get an opportunity to learn and excel in DDR
- Create scripts and other automation capabilities to increase productivity of verification engineers.
- Coding experience in Verilog, System Verilog or VHDL.
- Knowledge of basic concepts of verification methodology (like UVM).
- Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and able to work collaboratively in a team.
- Basic understanding of DDR.
- Basic understanding of SoC design flow.
- Experience in using industry standard logic simulation tools like Questa, VCS or NCSIM.
- Experience in scripting using Unix shell, perl or python.
- Currently pursuing a MS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred. BS and PhD is also considered.
- Internship is full-time for Summer 2025 (May/June – August/September) in Santa Clara, CA.
