Job Description:
Amphenol FSI is seeking a highly qualified CNC Programmer with relevant experience using Esprit software. This position will be responsible for development and optimization of CNC programs for 3-4-5 axis milling, and 7-8 axis turning centers.
Essential Functions:
Will need to analyze engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations to program CNC machines
Understand and apply appropriate tool applications and work holding techniques to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes.
Design fixtures and select appropriate tools to meet the specific requirements of each project.
Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines
Conduct quality checks using micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and planning, to ensure seamless integration of CNC programs into the manufacturing process.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the programming and machining processes.
Maintain and update CNC programs to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Utilize GD&T principles for accurate part production
Implement Lean manufacturing practices to improve workflow efficiency
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including ISO and AS9100 where applicable.
Train and support CNC operators on machine setup and operation.
Required Knowledge Skill, and Abilities:
Proficiency in CNC programming utilizing Esprit Software
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining challenges
Familiarity with micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments
Knowledge of GD&T principles
Experience with lathe and milling machine operations
Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts
Required Education and Experience:
Associate degree or vocational training in CNC programming, machining, or related field >8 year experience
Experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate, typical of a CNC machine production environment.
