What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Techniform Metal Curving?
Programs, sets up and operates the CNC 3 Axis Machining for products such as aircraft, structural, commercial, military, and transportation and other metal parts by performing the following duties.
1. CNC programmers read the blueprint designs of the product to be manufactured and then set their machines to produce the components. This requires familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
2. CNC programmers write the formulas necessary to program mills and lathes using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. It involves entering tool registries, start and end points, offsets, and conditional switches. It requires knowledge of geometry and trigonometry. Reviews set up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, set up operations.

4. Verifies accuracy of machined work pieces against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring cuts with inspection tooling and gages.
5. Makes adjustments in the program and tooling as needed to achieve correct specification.
6. Loads bar stock or tubing in feeder tube.
7. Documents all finding and conversations pertaining to specific jobs or customer on designated job / customer file.
8. Works collectively with various departments (sales, shipping, production, accounting, program managers, etc.) to assure that he produces the most accurate manufacturing methodology in the work order / shop traveler.
9. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
10. Plans and schedules workflow for each work center and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
11. Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
12. Confers with department supervisors to determine accuracy of work orders.
13. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
14. Lists required materials, tools, and equipment.
15. Establishes positive communications between customer and TI, & between department and supporting departments.
16. Performs contract review on planning and estimating versus TI quotation.
17. Updates and continuously improves program work orders. Utilizes shop copies and reviews with shop personnel when necessary.
18. Translates all MILL Standards on drawings into specific instructions on work order travelers.
19. Lists all requirements for certifications and mill spec.’s in work order.
