Job Description:
Amphenol FSI is seeking a highly qualified CNC Programmer with relevant experience using Esprit software. This position will be responsible for development and optimization of CNC programs for 3-4-5 axis milling, and 7-8 axis turning centers.
Essential Functions:
- Will need to analyze engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations to program CNC machines
- Understand and apply appropriate tool applications and work holding techniques to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes.
- Design fixtures and select appropriate tools to meet the specific requirements of each project.
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines
- Conduct quality checks using micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and planning, to ensure seamless integration of CNC programs into the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the programming and machining processes.
- Maintain and update CNC programs to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Utilize GD&T principles for accurate part production
- Implement Lean manufacturing practices to improve workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including ISO and AS9100 where applicable.
- Train and support CNC operators on machine setup and operation.
Required Knowledge Skill, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in CNC programming utilizing Esprit Software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining challenges
- Familiarity with micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments
- Knowledge of GD&T principles
- Experience with lathe and milling machine operations
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or vocational training in CNC programming, machining, or related field >8 year experience
- Experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate, typical of a CNC machine production environment.
