We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manufacturing Segment Manager to oversee sales efforts within the Manufacturing segment or vertical. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to identify opportunities, build strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align sales strategies with business goals while effectively managing a team and collaborating across departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned segment or vertical market.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities.
- Establish and achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and market share objectives.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders within the vertical.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Lead negotiations and close high-value deals with strategic accounts.
- Mentor a sales team, setting clear performance expectations and goals.
- Provide ongoing training and support to enhance team skills and performance.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the assigned segment, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Identify and prioritize new market opportunities to expand the company’s footprint.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipelines using CRM tools.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and competitor activity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and sales best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years outside sales experience, preferably in an industrial setting
- Must be able to work remotely, up to 40% travel.
- Previous experience managing a vertical industrial market preferred
- Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with key distribution partners.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to sell value (total cost of ownership) vs price
- Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial distribution, engineering/technology or related degree or equivalent experience
