Job Description
The Application Engineer I plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of technical systems. This position assists senior-level engineers and Product Managers in preparing plans, designs, and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Prepares cost estimates for non-technical projects by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, managers, and other personnel.
- Maintains responsibility for samples, including breakdowns, pinouts, pictures, and logging into the system.
- Designs basic AutoCAD drawings.
- Creates Epicor parts that have been built or ordered before.
- Liaises with Sales/Customers to assist with new quotes and questions regarding design.
- Responds to queries from the Buildshop and Purchasing departments.
- Involved in the non-complicated order process, including drawing checks and updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 7 years of equivalent working experience.
- Strong organizational and writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work as a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working with CAD-CAM software or related programs, preferably 2D & 3D.
- Completion of an Improvement Project, approved by the Application Engineering Manager and Director of Custom Assembly.
