Foundation Software is seeking a Full Time on site dedicated and experienced Facilities Specialist to ensure the optimal performance and upkeep of critical infrastructure systems within our data centers and facilities. This role will focus on the maintenance of electrical systems, HVAC systems, physical security, sound masking, and other key infrastructure to ensure a secure, stable, and efficient environment for our operations.
The ideal candidate will have a focus on providing proactive and responsive maintenance support. The position requires occasional travel to maintain other facilities across the US and vendor management, documentation, compliance, safety, and on-call or emergency response availability as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Generator Maintenance:
- Schedule and assist in regular inspections and preventive maintenance on generators.
- Ensure the functionality and reliability of backup power systems.
- Coordinate fuel checks, battery checks, and load testing to ensure operational readiness.
- UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Systems:
- Monitor and maintain UPS systems, ensuring proper function during power interruptions.
- Perform battery testing and replacement as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair UPS system malfunctions.
- Data Center HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Maintenance:
- Maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels in data center environments.
- Schedule and assist in regular maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC systems.
- Ensure air conditioning and cooling systems are running efficiently to prevent overheating.
- Camera and Surveillance Systems:
- Monitor and maintain security camera systems, ensuring full coverage and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair cameras, DVRs, and associated hardware.
- Assist in upgrading or expanding the surveillance system as required.
- Physical Access Control Systems (Including Biometric Systems):
- Ensure proper functionality of physical access control systems, including biometric access, card readers, and door locks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot access control hardware and software.
- Manage user access rights and perform system updates.
- Data Center Maintenance (Cleaning & Expansion):
- Schedule and assist in regular cleaning and maintenance of data center equipment and infrastructure, including server racks, wiring, and floors.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new hardware or infrastructure in the data center, ensuring proper placement, cooling, and connectivity.
- Support planning and execution of data center expansion projects, including cable management and infrastructure modifications.
- Sound Masking Systems:
- Maintain and troubleshoot sound masking systems to ensure a comfortable and productive environment.
- Perform regular inspections and adjustments to sound masking equipment for optimal performance.
- Vendor Management:
- Oversee vendor relationships related to infrastructure system maintenance, repair, and service.
- Ensure vendors meet contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on system inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- On-Call/Emergency Response:
- Be available for on-call support and emergency response as needed, including troubleshooting and repairs during non-business hours.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure maintenance, particularly in data centers and facilities.
- Strong knowledge of backup power systems (generators, UPS).
- Experience with HVAC systems, particularly in data center environments.
- Familiarity with camera surveillance systems and physical access control technologies (biometrics, card readers).
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to perform basic data center maintenance, including cleaning, organization, and expansion tasks.
- Experience with sound masking systems and their installation/maintenance is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in real time.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to work in tight or restricted spaces, including data center areas.
- Comfort with being on-call and managing emergency repairs as needed.
