You are going to be a part of the Application team of Ampleon
The Smithfield team is an experienced team with engaged and passionate people. They need your full-time support on site!
Reporting to the Application group Leader in Smithfield, you are responsible for developing, building and repairing a wide variety of reference designs and demo boards to support our customers (Including Mobile Broadband Radio, Navigation and safety Radio, Broadcast, Industrial, Scientific, Medical applications) and enabling Ampleon to achieve our business goals.
A look into the life of the Technician Assembly at Ampleon
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Assemble and rework a wide variety of reference designs and demo boards based on Ampleon RF power transistors and integrated devices. Align with engineering and sales teams to prioritize demo board building based on the availability of parts and customers’ timeline needs.
• Manage stockroom and inventory. Maintain inventory of electronic components, coordinating with purchasing officer and engineers to determine what electrical and mechanical parts need to be stocked and in what quantities to ensure a steady production deadline.
• Manage machine shop. Machine or modify copper, brass and aluminum mechanical parts utilizing CNC technology or hand tools as necessary.
• Modify or fabricate mechanical components (e.g. baseplates) if necessary. Assist with the creation of new mechanical designs for components such as baseplates with cooling channels, inserts to fit new packages as they are released, enclosures and any other parts needed to meet the challenges of new design requirements.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who has the following background and capabilities:
• legally authorized to work in the United States
• > 5 years of experience in electronics assembly
• Excellent surface mount technology soldering and rework skills
• Good mechanical qualification
• Good organization skills
• Good verbal and written English language communication skills
• Machining skills (vertical mill, CNC, etc.) and 3D CAD design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) are a plus
• Proactive and team-oriented attitude
• Attention to detail
