As a Sr PLM System Engineer, you will design and integrate PLM solutions to streamline engineering and manufacturing operations. By creating a seamless digital thread and optimizing processes, you will enhance product quality, reduce time-to-market, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Your role will also involve training teams and leading projects that drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
PLM System Implementation and Integration:
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions tailored to our engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Integrate PLM platforms with other enterprise systems, such as ERP, MES, and CAD tools, to establish a seamless digital thread across all product data.
System Configuration and Customization:
- Configure and customize PLM functionalities, including BOM management, change management, document control, and lifecycle workflows, to enhance engineering and manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and maintain system architecture, user roles, and data governance models to support secure and scalable PLM operations.
Data Integration and Analytics:
- Facilitate the integration of PLM systems with various data sources and applications, enabling real-time visibility and access to product information across teams.
- Leverage data analytics to drive insights into product development cycles, identify bottlenecks, and recommend strategies for optimization.
Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to streamline processes, such as new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change management (ECM).
- Conduct gap analyses and implement PLM-driven solutions to improve product quality, reduce time-to-market, and enhance operational efficiency.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure PLM systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, FDA, APQP).
- Support quality assurance initiatives by implementing systems for traceability, documentation, and reporting.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and guidance to end-users and stakeholders to maximize the adoption and utilization of PLM systems.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance while maintaining system stability and performance.
Project Management:
- Lead PLM projects from requirements gathering through implementation and stabilization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for PLM vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams during project execution.
