We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Manager of Quality Engineering to join our team. The Sr. Manager of Quality Engineering will contribute to the development and design of a quality management system (QMS) as well as the development of high-performing processes within battery cell manufacturing. This role will support the planning, development, testing and commissioning of over 700 pieces of manufacturing equipment alongside Manufacturing Engineering partners. As a Sr. Manager of Quality Engineering, you will also support the hiring and development of the quality team. In the near-term, heavy focus will be placed on working with our partners domestic and international with a focus on proper quality controls, risk mitigations, FMEA development, as well as the development and implementation of a robust QMS to include Supplier Quality elements. After implementation of the equipment, responsibilities will transition into managing the day-to-day quality operations and continuous improvement of the processes. Additionally, they will work closely with customers and field service teams to address warranty-related issues and enhance customer satisfaction which includes the development and maintenance of warranty-tracking systems, analyzing trends and failure modes to improve product reliability, leading warranty analysis and failure investigations ensuring timely root cause identification and resolution. The Sr Manager of Quality Engineering will be accountable for various KPI’s with focus on schedule and cost in the near term and then safety, yield, first time right (FTR), NC/CAPA and other quality focused KPI’s. In this role, you will be expected to facilitate, collaborate, drive and steer across multiple project partners as well as our international partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of quality engineers for key functional processes and QMS areas within the plant.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of their team to maximize utilization of resources.
- Develop, implement and manage their teams’ training and development along with continuous feedback and performance monitoring.
- Interfaces with management on a regular basis to ensure effective coordination and execution of project/program schedule.
- Develop FMEAs and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support cross-functionally through development and deployment milestones.
- Take a lead role in the development of the QMS to include but not limited to policies, procedures, processes, documents, and records ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards (such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949).
- Monitor, track, and analyze key quality metrics identifying root causes/countermeasures through effective problem-solving techniques needed to improve yield rates.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
- Experienced Quality Professionals with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on expertise in a manufacturing environment with 3 years’ management experience.
- 3 years’ experience in a Battery Cell Manufacturing Environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 Manufacturing Quality Standards, ISO 14000 environmental standards and IATF 16949 Standards.
- Experience with industrial engineering concepts—such as line balancing and timing charts.
- Experience in regulated industry upholding compliance requirements.
- Experience in audit execution with a focus on supporting the audit team in various phases of the audit process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, report writing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively all levels of management and disciplines and ability to work cross-functionally with partners across all areas of the company.
- Formal problem-solving experience on complex issues.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally – 20% travel likely.
