About the Role
As the Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our sales strategy. This is a high-impact position, responsible for leading a team, driving revenue growth, and fostering relationships with key accounts and new prospects.
This role involves nurturing and expanding relationships with current customers, as well as leading and managing a small team of Outside and Inside Sales Reps. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, exceptional communication skills, and a talent for developing and maintaining client relationships and a desire to grow and nurture a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
- Customer Engagement: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Market Expansion: Explore and penetrate new markets and industries, leveraging innovative solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product development and technical teams to ensure customer needs are met with innovative and effective solutions.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Analyze market trends, prepare accurate sales forecasts, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Travel: Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to represent and build brand visibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5-10 years of sales experience, with at least experience in a leadership role within the specialty chemicals, colorants, or additives industry.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Strong understanding of the specialty chemical market, including key customers and competitors.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
