Responsibilities:
The HR & Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for serving as an extension of the AMPORTS corporate Human Resources Management team by:
- Focusing on the accurate and complete payroll process for AMPORTS, Inc.
- Becoming a UKG for internal clients and HR team.
- Assist with inquiries from employees, managers, and HR team that could include any topic with the Human Resources field of responsibility.
- Providing administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, audits, invoice processing and HRIS entry.
- Working alongside the accounting team to assist with AP/AR and invoicing.
- Working with vendors and customers to ensure invoice payment is received.
- The HR & Payroll Specialist will spend most of their time working within UKG, accounting software, Excel, and processing employee and management requests.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and three (3) to five (5) years of general Human Resources and payroll experience are required.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field with three (3) to five (5) years of general Human Resources and payroll experience is preferred.
- Documented experience working in UKG is required.
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills are required.
- Certification from HRCI or SHRM is a plus. This could include aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is also a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.
Physical Demands
Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative or production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.
Travel
Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
