Amports is seeking an experienced and responsible Safety Coordinator. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing employee safety at work. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to OSHA guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. The Safety Coordinator will work directly with the Safety Manager’s assistance in all facets that follow.
Pay Range: $72,000-$82,000
Essential Functions
- Plan and implement OSHA policies and programs
- Advise employees on various safety related topics
- Prepare educational seminars and trainings on an annual basis
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Adhere to all rules and regulations
- Work in conjunction with the HR team to establish new employee onboarding process for safety
- Conduct risk assessment
- Enforce preventative measures
- Identify process improvements needed and make recommendations
- Assess employee adherence to all rules and regulations
- Prepare and present reports related to accidents and violations and provide insight on causes
- Oversee facility repair, installations and other various activities that could increase employee risk exposure
- Other collateral duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports.
Work Environment
This job operates indoors and outdoors throughout the day. While it is not in a professional office setting, you will be required to use standard office equipment daily.
Physical Demands
Moderate physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative or production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.
Travel
This position has limited travel, based upon team needs.
Required Education and Experience
HS Diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years' experience with OSHA, USCG, and/or safety policies
Preferred Education and Experience
AS400 experience
AA or BS degree
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).
