Safety Coordinator
General Description:
The Safety Coordinator will be project based, and they will provide direction and leadership on all safety matters concerning company operations for specific project(s).
Essential Duties:
- Implement, plan, and develop safety policies and procedures in compliance with Federal OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and local Highway Construction standards on specific project(s)
- Focus on accident prevention through the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive safety program on specific project(s)
- Train and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to ensure implementation of health and safety requirements and policies on specific project(s)
- Travel to and inspect job site(s) regularly, ensuring compliance with regulatory health and safety standards and company safety policies
- Coordinate and participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations on specific project(s)
- Monitor and track outstanding deficiencies to resolution on specific project(s)
- Monitor the company’s Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Insurance; provide recommendations to help reduce premiums
- Maintain a list of hazardous materials and chemicals on site, and all associated regulated documents as required
