SummaryAs a Battery Technician, Assembly & Testing, you will work closely with Engineers and Technicians to support our key client with battery pack assembly and testing. When not working on the Battery Pack production, you will perform the Production Test Lab Technician job duties. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team. This role will report to the Product Test Supervisor. This is a TEMP role with an opportunity to be converted to PERM.
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures to ensure the product is per the client’s specifications.
- Cell preparation per specification and Battery Pack Assembly.
- Perform tests using various methods and tools on Cells and Battery Packs to evaluate their performance and quality.
- Conduct OCV checks.
- Visually evaluate defects from a list of standard defects.
- Report any irregularities and assist with corrective actions.
- Record accurate test data into the quality management software.
- Prepare cells for shipment.
- Maintain lab and testing equipment.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Battery assembly experience preferred.
Must know how to use soldering equipment and have a minimum of 1 year of soldering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of basic electrical connections.
Knowledge and understanding of Battery Test techniques and equipment such as mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper.
Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately.
Responsible for ensuring the quality of tasks performed is up to and above the expected company standards.
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Take responsibility for ensuring that all safety protocols are followed per instructions.
Keep the work area clean and well organized.
Must be a team player and be able to perform tasks with minimum supervision.
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Some flexibility on start/end time.
- Salary: $24.00-$32.00/per hour. Depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
