Job Description
Position Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary with at least 5 years of experience in a corporate transactional law environment. This role will require the ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail, delivering excellent service, and effectively communicating with both clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and organizational support to 3-4 corporate transactional attorneys.
- Draft, format, and proofread corporate documents, including contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
- Assist with redlining and document revisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal protocols.
- Manage and organize document management systems, including document storage and retrieval.
- Coordinate and assist with the execution of electronic signatures using Docusign.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and make travel arrangements for attorneys as needed.
- Handle client communication and ensure timely responses to client inquiries.
- Prepare and organize files for meetings, closings, and transactions.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by attorneys and senior management.
- Provide support for corporate filings, corporate governance documents, and other transactional tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant in a corporate transactional or business law setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management systems.
- Extensive experience with redlining and macros.
- Experience with Docusign for the execution of documents.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to fit into a team-oriented, collaborative firm culture.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a busy corporate transactional law department is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate matters is a plus.
