Job Description
Our client is seeking a bi-lingual (Spanish) Litigation Paralegal Labor and Employment to support the firm’s Labor and Employment Group, Labor lawyers serve as lead negotiator and labor counsel for employers that are involved with labor organizations. The Group is actively engaged in all phases of labor and employment, including litigation in both federal and state court from initial pleadings through discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal.
Litigation Paralegals work closely with attorneys and team members to proactively oversee case management from inception through and after trial or settlement; draft, review, and revise legal documents; maintain case files and update discovery logs and indices; support and manage document productions; assist with deposition and hearing preparation, including identifying and gathering exhibit documents and creating witness outlines; cite-check briefs, including both legal and factual citations; assist with document review and coordinate with the Litigation Support Group.

Required Qualifications
- Speak, read, and write English and Spanish.
- A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved institution, Continuing Legal Education, B&P code is preferred plus Legal Assistance / Paralegal experience working with a California law firm or in-house legal department.
- Proficiency with latest Microsoft Office Suite and/or Office 365, experience with iPro (or other eDiscovery software), and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
- Strong legal research database skills and experience with Westlaw (preferred) and/or Lexis.
- Knowledge of Proof of Service, Law and Motion (i.e. pre-trial motion practice and certain other matters, like enforcing judgments or compelling arbitration, but excluding specific types of cases outlined in the California Rules of Court.)
- In-depth knowledge and experience with civil litigation rules and processes in California Superior courts.
- Independently draft routine civil litigation complaints, discovery (propounding and responding), motions, briefs
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Efficiently analyze and prioritize routine legal tasks and projects
- Excellent communication and writing skills, understanding and knowledge of legal procedures, rules of court, and local rules, ability to work independently with little or no direction, ability to work effectively in a team environment,
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and strict confidentiality of all information that the employee may receive as a result of her or his role; and
- Strong written skills, verbal skills, and interpersonal skills.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
