Job Summary
Reporting to the CHRO, the Director, Human Resources will ensure regional execution in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management and will be responsible for the rollout of global initiatives within the region. This position will be part of the region leadership team and work closely with North America COO
This position can be based in Cranbury, New Jersey or Houston, Texas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and direct HR policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets for staffing, employee relations, training, organizational development and HR systems and tools. Ensures alignment with global policies and business objectives.
- Build, manage and develop a small team of HR professionals in providing HR solutions and insights in support of overall business initiatives.
- Provide counsel to managers and employees on HR issues, organizational structure and employee development. Establish credible relationships with managers and employees, offering support and problem-solving assistance.
- Support recruitment, selection and placement of qualified personnel. Implement and administer performance management and succession planning programs to improve productivity and ensure operational continuity.
- Collaborate with AmSpec compensation to develop and administer fair reward systems.
- Implement cultural change initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as the region’s point of contact on employee-related matters with external regulatory agencies and customers. Ensure compliance with all employment laws and functions and oversee audits and filings.
- Review and coach organizational leaders and HR team members to resolve employee relations issues using a systematic approach. Resolve leadership level employee relations issues.
- Research best practices and suggest implementation of processes to more efficiently streamline such actions as onboarding, performance review, disciplinary actions and promotions

Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or other related area or equivalent
- Master’s Degree a plus; not required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years broad and progressive experience in human resources with 7 years in a generalist role supporting a business or region.
- Experience managing a salaried and hourly population in an operational environment governed by external regulations (TIC, Manufacturing, or related technical industry)
- Expert knowledge in HR management concepts with a strong consultative, but results oriented approach
- Fluency in Spanish preferred

- Strong business orientation and financial skills. Experience working in a Lean Six Sigma environment a plus
- Ability to develop strategic relationships, strong verbal and written communication, excellent presentation skills, adaptable to the level of audience.
- Superior customer service orientation with strong follow up skills and attention to detail
- Analytical ability, both interpersonal and issue-related; good judgement and ethics, professional presence and demeanor, strong political savvy
