What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler position at AMSURG, LLC?
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, is responsible for scheduling all surgeries and procedures at the facility and the coordination of an effective, efficient, admission process.
- Enters all reservations and patient demographic & insurance data into the patient information system.
- Alerts the appropriate persons as to any special equipment or physical needs for each patient, and creates the chart for each patient encounter.
- Provides insurance information to the Verification Specialists.
- Coordinates individual surgeon schedules with the surgeon offices of assignment.
- Utilizes the computer in most aspects of the position.
Qualifications
- 1 year of previous Scheduling experience required
- 1 year of previous orthopedic experience preferred.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Regular and predictable attendance
