Job Summary

Experience/Training/Education
High school graduation and 3-5 years’ experience, training and/or certification in purchasing methods and procedures, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Significant experience with MRO buying and ERP System knowledge in a manufacturing environment. Purchasing and business classes a plus.

Examples Of Duties And Responsibilities
- Solicit, review, and negotiate quotes from vendors for standard and non-standard materials to reflect the greatest overall value and lowest total cost;
- Issue, and revise purchase orders to ensure accuracy;
- Audit purchase orders against invoices to ensure that accuracy of materials ordered and received when there are discrepancies and resolve the issue;
- Collaborate with Sr. Buyer with global and domestic strategic sourcing initiatives and select reliable sources;
- Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers and end users;
- Prepare bid request documents, evaluate responses and determine final supplier selection;
- Initiate Engineering Change Orders as needed for approval of products or material substitutions;
- Works closely with Sr. Buyer with monitoring suppliers to ensure on time delivery of product and quality requirements are met;
- Coordinate delivery and pick-up of company materials;
- Works closely with accounting, sales, engineering, production, and quality departments, for continuous improvement and cost reductions;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

- Considerable knowledge of purchasing, receiving and inventory procedures;
- Knowledge of basic math;
- Skilled in operation of computer and multi-function machines (copier, scanner, printer);
- Ability to analyze data and report results using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Ability to organize and prioritize own work;
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and material orders;
- Ability to compile and maintain accurate work records;
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others, including vendors and various departmental representatives;
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
- Ability to analyze and solve purchasing problems; and
- Ability to procure materials at most cost-effective rates.
Salary : $30 - $35
