Position Title : HR Generalist
Location : Bakersfield, CA

Salary Range : $70,000 - $80,000
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team in California. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, and contributing to the overall success of our HR department. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of California labor laws, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing questions, concerns, and grievances.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and best
- practices.
2. Recruitment and Onboarding
Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinatinginterviews.Manage the onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed andemployees are successfully integrated into the organization.3. Compliance and Recordkeeping
Ensure compliance with federal, state (California-specific), and local labor laws, includingwage and hour laws, leave requirements (e.g., CFRA, PDL), and workplace safety regulations.Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with legal and organizationalrequirements.4. Benefits Administration
Assist in the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirementplans, and wellness programs.Address employee questions regarding benefits and assist with enrollment processes.5. Training and Development
Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and employee development programs.Monitor employee performance and collaborate with management to create growthopportunities.6. HR Operations and Policies
Support payroll processing and ensure timely resolution of related issues.7. Other Duties
Participate in HR projects and initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HRprocesses.Full cycle payroll in QuickBooks Desktop Pro (including prevailing wage)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (orequivalent experience).4 years of HR experience, preferably as a Generalist or in a similar role.Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices.Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Microsoft Office SuitesPreferred Qualifications
SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certificationExperience in handling multi-state HR compliance.Bilingual (English / Spanish)Compensation
