Amteck, a leading provider of electrical and engineering solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Material Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Material Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials on a fast-paced project site.
The Material Manager shall be the individual overseeing the receipt, organization, movement, and distribution of materials on large construction projects. This position requires effective verbal and non-verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, and collaborative thinking.
This position receives daily direction from the Project Manager and Lead Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish material requirements, forecast demand, and ensure timely availability of materials.
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal policies related to material management, safety, and quality control.
Work alongside and develop team members on material management processes, procedures, and best practices.
Generate reports and provide regular updates on material management activities to senior management.
Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Foreman, and other disciplines within the organization regarding material kitting and staging.
Ensure work package kits are built, accurate, and staged appropriately.
Maintain shipment packing slips and balance items received from their corresponding Purchase Order
Record received materials in the provided material inventory excel file with appropriate dates, quantities, and descriptions.
Read and navigate a construction site map, to ensure that requested material is laid out in the proper location.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Material Manager or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of material management principles, techniques, and best practices.
Proficient in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
Strong organization and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in inventory control and reporting.
Ability to work alongside, lead, and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Familiarity with safety and quality control standards in the construction industry is preferred.
Must be able to operate a forklift, lull, or all terrain forklift.
Must be highly mobile and able to bend, lift, and twist. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from a resting position, repeatedly.
Ability to quickly task switch in a high volume, fast paced work environment with tight deadlines.
