Overview:
Our client is a family-owned, fast-paced construction company specializing in site development, road work, and heavy civil construction, seeking a plug-and-play Estimator to join our team in Pasco County. This is a unique opportunity to work with a company known for its strong connections and repeat business with top homebuilders and General Contractors. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who can handle fast-paced, private work with precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for site development projects, including earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and horizontal construction.
- Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid preparation using HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob software.
- Review project documents (blueprints, specs, contracts) to ensure accuracy in bids.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and field staff to ensure estimates reflect actual project conditions.
- Sign on and coordinate with subcontractors, handling RFIs, submittals, and tracking material orders.
- Engage with clients and homebuilders to understand project requirements and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality service.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as an Estimator in site development or heavy civil construction.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, HeavyJob, and other relevant construction software.
- Familiarity with private development projects, residential land development, and working with large homebuilders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Local or regional experience within Florida.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
