AMVC Veterinary Services is a progressive, full-service mixed-animal practice seeking a full-time veterinary technician or assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will practice high-quality, compassionate patient care and have an excellent rapport with customers.
Responsibilities:
· Assist veterinarian with triage, surgery, and anesthetic monitoring during procedures
· Assist in small and large animal preventative medicine
· Greet and support clients in a professional, friendly manner
· Communicate with and educate clients
· Administer medications
· Monitor and treat hospitalized cases
· Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement and maintenance, and laboratory work
· Safely handle and restrain animals
· Complete and maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications:
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Positive attitude and friendly disposition
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Maintain confidentiality
· Animal handling experience preferred
· Certification from an accredited veterinary technology program with or without an RVT license is preferred
