Valley View Veterinary Clinic is a small business in Council Bluffs, IA. We are professional, customer-centric, fast-paced and our goal is to keep clients' pets happy and healthy.
Duties
- Greet and welcome clients in a professional and friendly manner, as well as weighing pets, collecting history and TPR.
- Use of Avimark software to enter charges and assist veterinarians with entering history.
- Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intervenous medications or vaccination.
- Safely restrain cats and dogs
- Trim nails, ear cleaning, sanitary clips, application of devises like freestyle libre and ability to express anal glands
- Ability to pull blood for labwork as requested by veterinarian
- Ability to place an IV Catheter under the supervision of veterinarian
- Ability to create and read ear cytology slides
- Ability to learn how to operate and use our x-ray and therapy laser
- Ability to run labwork on inhouse IDEXX machines as well as properly ordering and packaging labwork that is sent to IDEXX and Physicians Lab.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Assist with filling prescription medications
- Assist with surgical procedures, anesthetic monitoring, and humane euthanasia.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification is a preferred
- Iowa Veterinary Technician license preferred but not required
- Strong clerical and administrative skills
- Proficient computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work

- Unlicensed Technicians: Starting at $19.00
- Licensed Technicians: Starting at $21.00
Pay is negotiable based on experience.
