What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio Visual Technician - 2nd Shift - Full Time position at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel?
$16.30/hour starting pay rate with the opportunity for increases up to $19.00/hour by passing job-related testing.
This is a full time position with 2nd shift hours. Weekend availability is required.

SUMMARY
To ensure that the guest is satisfied with the products and services provided by the audio visual department, while meeting our financial responsibilities. Conduct daily tasks and activities displaying a professional manner and attitude guided by the spirit to serve.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- To accurately complete all of the AV related tasks on a daily basis.
- To assist other departments with AV related issues.
- Maintain positive attitude and wiliness to please the internal/external guest.
- Arrive to work on time, neatly groomed and in proper uniform.
- To be ready to fill in wherever they are needed to satisfy the guest.
- Maintain the in-house music system.
- Maintains the meeting room sound and lighting systems. (LBO’s)
- Reports any problem areas that affect security, safety or operating condition of the hotel.
- Responsible for hanging all banners.
- Participate in an “aggressive hospitality program,” greeting all guests with warmth and enthusiasm, and be attentive to their needs while they are with us.
- Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures pertaining to your area of work. Follow established uniform standards and comply with all other company policies.
- Practice safety standards and reports all unsafe conditions.
- Provide fast and courteous service to our guests; to accomplish this, a well organized work area must be maintained.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times as a goodwill ambassador of the AGPH to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Associate’s attitude, willingness to please guests, ability to get along with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to follow established guidelines, procedures and policies.
- Good record of attendance and punctuality at work.
- Adherence to prescribed grooming and appearance standards.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Daily Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all of the daily work is completed in accordance with AHC guidelines.
- To uphold all of the service culture standards set forth by the AHC.
- To treat the AV gear with respect and care.
- To learn completely, all of the audio visual gear so that they can set it and use it for daily set-ups and tech times.
- To learn AV procedures/practices at all three of the AHC properties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be intimately familiar with operation of each piece of AV equipment.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a catwalk
- Must be able to climb a 12ft. ladder
- Must be able to use a lift.
- Must be able to see all colors of the spectrum.
- Must provide and maintain safe working conditions, and to avoid accidents/injury.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university.
- Previous Guest service experience
- Previous hotel Audio Visual experience preferred.
