SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk position assists the Shipping & Receiving Department, as well as the Purchasing Departments. The majority of this position is the completion of receiving and inventory documentation for both departments, but also will help out either department with their day-to-day movement of product. This position is also responsible for assisting in the overall cleanliness of the dock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works 1st shift hours as early as 5:30 am and as late as 4pm depending on schedule
- Assist with unloading inventory from vendor vehicles as directed
- Fills in for Shipping & Receiving employees to cover vacation/time off
- Operates electric power jacks, manual pallet jacks, flat bed cars and two wheel dollies
- Handles the receiving guests packages and ensures the delivery of them to the Bell Stand
- Directs all vendors loading in for events at Amway Grand Plaza to their respective meeting room/ballroom
- Controls Loading Dock traffic
- Maintains cleanliness on the Loading Dock
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Purchasing Code of Conduct.
- Check in with department manager for that day’s assigned duties.
- Follow our hotel green policies.
- Ensure trash/recyclables are taken out
- Follow AHC guest service standards.
- Actively work with department staff, while following all departmental rules.
- Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager, Manager on Duty or Supervising Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Related experience is preferred.
