About the Opportunity
The Chef/Kitchen manager position is intended to lead the kitchen in creating and serving excellent cuisine to customers. This includes implementing seasonal menu changes, creating a professional and team oriented atmosphere in the kitchen, managing catering orders, purchasing food, preparing the food orders and inventory, maintaining relationships with food vendors. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise kitchen staff
- Prepare food as orders come in, ensuring high quality and presentation
- Deliver excellent customer service, both within the team and to customers
- Place food and kitchen item orders, manage kitchen inventory, and ensure proper stock levels
- Establish and maintain relationships with food vendors, sourcing locally when possible
- Communicate timely and professionally with customers, teammates, and management
- Develop and adjust the menu as needed to ensure a diverse and appealing offering
- Recruit, train, and build a cohesive and efficient kitchen team
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning for the kitchen and restaurant operations
