Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team.
Duties
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize PCR techniques for molecular diagnostics and other advanced laboratory procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Implement quality control measures to validate test results and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Analyze data from laboratory tests, interpreting results in the context of patient health and physiology knowledge.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide insights on test results and contribute to patient management decisions.
- Document all findings accurately in laboratory information systems, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient data.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field is required.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs assessment is advantageous.
- Experience in laboratory management or supervision is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during testing processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.
