Job Description
We are looking to hire an Electronic Photonic Design Automation (EPDA / EDA) Engineer to support Analog Photonics’ growing silicon photonic Process Design Kit (PDK) offerings. In this position, the successful applicant will oversee the development and release of new PDK versions and expand EPDA software tool support of silicon photonic PDKs. The ideal candidate has experience with silicon photonic EPDA or EDA tools and chip design flows. Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and grow existing PDK offerings including parameterized cells (PCells), compact models, layout versus schematic (LVS), design rules checking (DRC)
• Work with silicon photonic design and test engineers to update component library components and models
• Development of flows that automate and simplify silicon photonic design for PDK users
• Expand support of PDKs to new EPDA tools
• Development and support of PDK component libraries for new silicon photonic processes and applications
• Collaborate with silicon photonic foundry partners to improve PDK
• Develop the next generation of EPDA tools for silicon photonic design
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (EE or ECE or ECSE), Computer Engineer (CE), Computer Science (CS), or related engineering discipline
• 2 years related industry experience
• Programming experience with Matlab, Python, C/C or other programming languages
• Familiarized with both schematic driven and layout driven design workflow
• Experience with industry standard EPDA/EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys Lumerical, and Calibre for use in device and circuit simulation, layout, and DRC verification
• Knowledge of silicon photonic integrated circuit fabrication and design flows
• Understanding of layout design rules, layout physical design, device physics and semiconductor processing
