Description
SUMMARY :
Performs limited electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production assembly and subassembly operations of a repetitive nature to build and assemble routine units such as printed circuit boards, modules, chassis drawers, cable harnesses, and simple electronic and mechanical subassemblies.
DUTIES :
- may perform routine tasks in preparation for assembly such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, tinning, or bending wire parts, wiring and fastening terminal connections
- assembles and installs various electrical or electronic components where operation and sequence are specified by blueprints, wire lists, diagrams, or established operations practices
- uses various common hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- may operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly equipment
- notifies group leader or supervisor of quality or other issues
- ability to build to bill of materials (BOM) or assembly drawing and check document revisions in Agile
- may perform solder touch-up or solder of parts as a secondary operation (non SMT).
- may operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly equipment
- if mechanical, may perform mechanical assembly of a medium complexity item using basic tools procedures and fasteners
- may train other assemblers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required
- high school or equivalent plus 3 years or more of related experience that preferably includes IPC / JSTD
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch or squat, kneel or crawl, sit, stand for long periods of time, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
- Must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex or extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
